I took six tubes of acrylic colour and a titanium white to Sri Lanka and that passed customs in the hand luggage.
Small 5-inch squares of prepared board and canvass were a joy to use as they were easy to transport in my pocket and quick to cover and dry as we moved from place to place. The bright colours of the East came through in the final pieces which have made strong images for postcards.
Using a variety of media and styles the work responds to mood and geography but is more than often an observation of simple scenes in everyday life and on the travels across Europe.
