Police Dog Hogan filled the Lyme Regis Marina Theatre with full noise from their eight instruments – energy bluegrass with folk and subject matter close to the west country and other everyday observation such as mustard wine war and love. Go see.
Philip Kerr has been painting all his life. Based on some inspirational guidance at school as the only formal tuition he works as an amateur by fitting this creativity into an active family and work schedule.
Using a variety of media and styles the work responds to mood and geography but is more than often an observation of simple scenes in everyday life and on the travels across Europe.
As a keen walker he rarely sets foot without a 2B pencil and pad and often a full set of water colours and as a result the work is nearly all on location in whatever conditions. My sketchbooks are always to hand – the ultimate encouragement to keep on working away at new things.
Buying my art
I mainly work for pleasure with the occasional exhibition. Many of my images are used to make high quality cards of a variety of shapes and sizes – including Christmas cards. Commissions to create cards, cartoons or pen and ink representations of private houses and buildings are always welcome.
